They remodel the parks and the forest walks and bike lanes and bike trails

They are adding a pubic transit train system to the tune of billions and billions
so the service people have a way of getting into the city and growth areas
because the commute from south of Renton to Seattle (15 miles for example) is now an hour plus

So basically waiters and bar tenders and office cleaners now all make about $50k to 70k
or they quit and walk across the street and get that... It's INSANITY

Indeed!

I worked at Wing Point CC for a couple of summers back in the 80’s. We literally had a member named Richard Person.

But we have a Kingston address and are not on the island just like the new ferry. (You’re geography is as good as Andy’s)

We’re more common seafaring type folk, mostly fishmongers and loggers. It’s like the difference between Eastern Washington and Western Washington in general...salt of the earth stoics vs the more cunty types....
Back in the day the cunts kept to Seattle proper while the fun was being had up around Mt.Vernon/LaConner.

It would be hard to find a more self congratulatory group of politicians (outside of the present administration) than Seattle city council...

Seattle succeeds despite them not because of them...

I made $3.30something at the gas station and $5 at my parents friends carpet warehouse.

My oldest works at an indoor soccer and lacrosse facility, with gym and other exercise rooms. She gets paid $11/hr. She either sits at the front desk and tells people and their kids where to go, while doing her homework or works the snack bar.

It's bullshit.

Which probably charges parents an arm and a leg to use/be members of the indoor soccer/lax facility...

I remember my HS 1st job- 1990, on a farm bailing hay among other things. It was either $4 or $4.50 and hour, I don’t remember. Also cut grass that summer for $4.50 or $5 an hour..Started lifeguarding summer 91’ for $5 & change an hr...

I was making $7.50/hr in 1991 working at an Ace hardware store. Decent money for the work, just not always 40 hours.

First job where I got paid by the hour was at the golf course. $3.15/hr and they had me on the club payroll and the pro's payroll so I could work up to 80 hours a week with no OT. One summer I actually went 90 days with one day off and pretty much hit my 80 hour limit every week. :?

We also didn't have all these expenses that are now just a part of life.

When we first got married we paid probably $35/mo for cable and $20/mo for our land line. Now my cable/internet/phone/cells are well north of $500/mo. If my math is correct that's $9000+ per year of taxable income to cover. :ohno:

I have no clue whatsoever of what I made as 16 year old working at the course.

But today I’d love 80 hour per week workers with no OT.

Doesn't sound too crazy. I only have one kid sharing our cell line and we're at least over $400 a month on all those expenses. It adds up.
