To American Evangelicals admitting that morality is basically irrelevant

Which opens up whole new possibilities of honest conversations that can finally be had
by actual adults that don't have to pretend anymore

and we can settle on Logic and Reason as the corner stone of this Republic
and move past the charade...

Charade: SHəˈrād
an absurd pretense intended to create a pleasant or respectable appearance...
Hahaha.

If the donks run a guy that has three baby mommas evangelicals will say he's a secret Muslim and hates the Judeo-Christian foundation of two parent homes.

There is nothing dangerous about Jesus...
He was a charming individual with a heart of gold

The danger is with "True Believers"
Those who lack the honesty to admit they don't really know - because nobody knows

Instead they insist on speaking for God
They will be the death of us all

The closer they get to the Oval Office
That should make sane people very nervous

Welp. Like I said, my connections with "religious" people are the ones that go to my church with families and kids schools. Not sure if we would qualify for the TRUE BELIEVERS you speak of. I try and limit my conversation about my beliefs to inside my head.
Always interesting getting a theology lesson from a non believer.

I wonder how many on the left with a similar view have TDS so bad that they want to see Trump impeached while not thinking about the fact that means President Mike Pence.

I'm not a "non believer"
I'm a "nobody really knows so quit acting like you do" believer...

I don't think god keeps secrets, and those that believe that God is mysterious
have never come up with even a remotely reasonable answer as to why God would be mysterious
They just use the phrase "God is mysterious" so they can retain control of the narrative
and make up whatever sh!t they want

No hidden agenda mysticism mystery or miracle - what you see is what you get
I'm a GOD LITERALIST until somebody can explain otherwise

To me it seems like the language of God is a hell of a lot closer to Mathematics and Chemistry
Than iron age barbarism and general Biblical stupidity

But everybody gets to believe whatever they want...
and they also get to pretend they know stuff they have no clue about

The only thing I think you are referring to is that God is mysterious and he is because were are not him. Not are we infallible. Lord knows, I am not. What I do know. I have faith. And with that. I have Grace. And that doesn’t give me the answers, but the ability to live with the questions. Like I said. I keep my shit to myself. And believe everyone else should. But I get provoked occasionally to stand up for what I believe.

If that's true and you are a Trump supporter you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself. You have contributed to destroying the credibility of your movement. Those of us who are not evangelical Christians have heard all of your preaching for years. Love. Honestly. All that stuff. Then you line up behind an atrocity like Trump? If you are an evangelical and you voted for Trump at ANY point whether in the primary (really bad) or in the general election (still bad) you are a hypocrite. Don't EVEN come with that "Jesus" crap to the rest of us from now on.

Obviously you have not read my other posts on this thread. IMHO if I have no credibility with you, that is probably a good thing based on the looney things you post.

Why don't you just make a meme

something like "JSO sez... Trump = atrocity"

then just post it over and over and over

That's pretty much what I think I'm passing by as I skip over the majority of JSO's posts. They're redundant and usually a waste of time to read. I'll read and occasionally respond if I think there might be something original in one or if I'm feeling particularly 89like (or curmudgeonally).

Have you gotten in touch with that ..?
Actually that was the one part of the tweet that I thought was off

If you are an evangelical, then I guess playing with porn stars and also being pro life is hypocritical because we're talking about the commandments

But you can in fact be nonreligious or atheist and still be pro life

Conflating opposition to abortion with religion is the same as conflating religion with race - its disingenuous
