Yup, no one reads JSO posts all the way through, and with the volume he writes he pretty much can cover both sides of any argument. It's important to call him out every now and then, plus it's nice to let him know that we're here for him.UNI88 wrote:I reply to them occasionally just to point his bias and hypocrisy.kalm wrote:

Only Democrats seem to be getting agitated by the result, btw, if that tells you anything. Van Jones was on the verge of tears on Tuesday night. It was awesome!

You do realize that the Democrats held the House for 40 straight years, beginning in the mid 50's to the Gingrich-led GOP surge in the middle of Clinton's first term? There's a reason why this year's Democratic % increase is so large historically - historically (or, in your lifetime, as you like to put it) the Democrats have never been so low in terms of seats in the HoR - I think 2010 might have been their lowest point in almost 3/4 of a century. You're playing games with statistics right now. Shame on you.
Did you not see where he explained how the lead wasn't all that historic followed by how it was just their 13th best in 31 races?
JFC, Ganny did you even read one word past the first sentence he wrote?

As it should be. Out with the old, in with the new. She's had her time, time to move aside and let someone else take the reins. McConnell should move aside eventually too, although that will likely be in 2020 or after that, depending on control of the Senate.CID1990 wrote:Did I totally call the Dem rebellion against Pelosi, or did I totally call the Dem rebellion against Pelosi?

Add another Dem to the House win column and another defeat for a Trumpublican (Trump won Maine’s 2nd District).

Eh, I agree that it's disconcerting that she doesn't appear to have a lot of economic know-how and is woefully inexperienced in that regard (that's almost the definition of socialism when you think about it), but I don't mind the brashness and the willingness to voice an opinion and push back against the system. And she's right, she's there for 2 years to do a job and get things done. More politicians should have her focus on getting things done rather than just holding power.Ibanez wrote:Anyone see that the newest Socialist from NY wants her salary 3 months earlier, is upset nobody recognizes her or gives her special treatment?

BUT
What we could be seeing is a preview of 2020... the opposition will put someone so far left up as her replacement that the people who have already said they won't support her will vote "present"
which will fulfill their campaign promises while throwing the gavel to Pelosi
But right now she doesn't have the numbers, but a possible pathway there

RealClearPolitics now has the Democrats as having a 7.3 percentage point edge in the popular vote. If that holds or it gets higher that means the Democrats had a bigger overall percent vote edge in the 2018 House election than the Republicans have ever achieved during my 1957 - Present lifetime; beating the 7.1 percentage point edge the Republicans achieved in the 1994 "Contract with America" election.

Are you seriously giving credence to total popular vote counts across multiple Congressional elections across 50 states?JohnStOnge wrote:RealClearPolitics now has the Democrats as having a 7.3 percentage point edge in the popular vote.
