It says in the article that most of the 40% are Americans aged 16-24 who attribute their lack of working to being a student. Seems like people are simply prioritizing education over jobs in their younger years.

I actually can't believe we count that age group as part of any official numbers. They're affected by almost everything, from school to "I don't have a ride."

I'd be mildly surprised if it isn't already a thing.
MMORPG's are huge. Eve Online and WOW are some of the big ones. They are getting to the point that people are testing real life modeling (economic and epidemic) in them.

I'm sure it's different elsewhere, but in my industry dedicated drafters are a dying thing. Architects and engineers typically draft their own plans. I get your point though, Every job is important, although it's also important to understand when some jobs are becoming obsolete and train for new ones.
I’m talking about shipbuilding

Lofting and drafting is the term for someone who designs and builds ships

We still have those, they cross oceans

I was talking with my brother about this stuff and hadn't thought about it when he pointed out how the gaming industry is significantly larger than the film industry now and it needs artists, designers, engineers, and all sorts of other support staff. My oldest loves history and writing and said, how would I apply that to a career in gaming? I asked him if he'd ever played any history based warfare games (that's mostly what he plays on the PC) and if they had a storyline and were fairly realistic when it came to antique weaponry, strategy, and geography.
So there's a future in fantasy war? I'll take Patton in the first round of the draft.
A smart man’s fantasy draft would be:

Nathan Bedford Forrest
US Grant
Thomas Jackson
Blackjack Pershing
Dick Sheridan
Frank Fletcher (Navy)
Hap Arnold (Air Force)

Why so snippy? Part of my senior design project was lofting. I'd say a lot of ODU grads end up in the ship-building industry, so that term was thrown out a lot.

I was simply stating something about the industry I'm in, thus "I'm sure it's different elsewhere."

Nope. If I’m picking just one it’s Fletcher

He was good, no doubt about that. Just curious on why.

Avoid Cornwallis and Custer. They are terrible in the 4th quarter.

Would add Rommel as well to that.

Meh, I would take the shot. Give him the supply line that Patton had and I think he would be more than fine.

Hey, Rokossovsky is a quality value pick in the second round as he's really first round material.

I’m no military historian but Chief Joseph was good at upsets and beating the odds. He could also grab a lead and run and hide with it.

Alas he too struggled in the 4th quarter. In fact he kind of gave up.

Lee needed to play for a tie rather than going for the win at Gettysburg - Pickett's Charge cost him big time fantasy points...

He was shot down. Apparently because he didn't play on a winning team.
