More power to him. Just don't blame minimum wage hike for cashing out while you can.
I am sure that is what ruined him but most people don't know shit about running a profitable business yet they really like to talk about it like they do.

I do finances for a very profitable company (and hint, none of the employees are anywhere close to minimum wage)

How does that qualify you to understand minimum wage employers?

Then there's this...
Well, they will be laying off all those poor Mexican workers.

I guess you can go ahead put Michigan in the Trump column again in 2020. :coffee:

Baldy,
I appreciate your enthusiasm
but how many of these news tweets about the awesome Trump policy changes have actually panned out
Honestly, most of them have been wildly exaggerated hype

I wonder how many work visas Fiat Chrysler will apply for to staff this new Michigan location

I'm guessing they've invested in the training and expertise of some of those Mexican workers

Nothing would make me happier than if US Auto companies built their products entirely in the US

Frankly the only reason they don't is stock valuation and sticker prices
Ford hasn't cracked $20 bucks a share in over 20 years

My dad owns quite a few Ford shares purchased at about $1.00 in 1982

Ken Thomas is the White House correspondent for the Associated Press. When was the last time the AP wildly exaggerated and hyped anything positive about Trump?

Drama Queen.
I must've missed the company email about massive layoffs. I got the one about bonuses, the good 4th quarter, the plan to add 1500 people to the Charlotte area. I must've missed the one where we are layoff 1000s. :suspicious:

Just checked the googles - Nope. No layoffs. The last layoffs were a lot of tech contractors, like developers who aren't needed en masse.

Hey CID. Do you pay Federal taxes to the US for work overseas? Just curious. If you were a US citizen working overseas in the private sector, no taxes. I think. At least that is what I heard years ago. Not sure how it works for gov workers.

Ummm no.

As a matter of fact, the US is the only first word country that actually taxes it's citizens income who live and work overseas. You can exempt the taxes you pay to the country you're a resident of and/or working in, but you are still liable for any non-exempt taxes and you still have to file. It's ridiculous.

Used to be (1968) that you didn't have to pay if you stayed out of the country long enough.
