Look guys, why do you think it is that Trump spent time discounting economic statistics during the campaign? The same economic statistics he touts now. It's because those economic statistics were saying thins were going well. So he said statistics showing declining unemployment were fake because of workforce participation. And he said the stock market was in a bubble. So on and so forth.

So now things have basically continued as they were going and all of a sudden the statistics are real.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth

They called the economic recovery under Obama a "jobless recovery" for one thing. I would say that the economy under Obama was OK but wasn't quite "in good shape" and there was definitely room for improvement.
I don’t necessarily disagree. How much has fundamentally changed since the last bubble? And what has Trump done to limit the next?

How much of the Great Obama Economy benefitted the middle class?

How much will the Trump economy benefit the middle class?

Our jobs reports and our economic strength indicators seem to be completely divorced from each other

Oh c'mon CAA. You know all of the economic trends were positive before Trump got elected. You know his claim that he inherited a mess is absurd. I mean, PLEASE. This is not a plausibly debatable proposition.
1.6% economic growth (2016) is positive? :suspicious:

More jobs were created in 2016 than in 2017. Google it.
How did 2016 compare to 2015? How did 2015 compare to 2014? How many hurricanes hit US soil in those years?

If it were negative it would have a minus sign in front of it. -1.6%. Very advanced math.

You mean the “free market” neo-liberal, Ayn Rand disciple Greenspan who was one of the key architects of the Great Recession?

Sure!

Yes, it is. And you have to look at it in some reasonable context. Here is a graph of recent GDP growth:

There is no way that indicates "HEY! Things really took off after Trump got elected!
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth

Are they about purely internal affairs?
