This kind of thing is, I think, a manifestation of factors that were important during the 2016 election season. There was a backlash against that kind of behavior. I mean the behavior, in this case, of those who are acting the way they are because the police officer got acquitted.

The whole system is wrong. A cop is recorded saying I'm gonna Kill this MotherFvcker and he kills him. So now Cops are Judge, Jury and Executioner.

So called protestors nothing more than a bunch of violent thugs bent on destruction.

More than 80 arrested after protest violence downtown; 'Police owned tonight,' chief says

What about the murdering cop who shot an unarmed man, while in his custody?

That doesnt excuse their behavior..............cops need to mow down a couple hundred protesters. Then ask if they want to continue or "protest peacefully". This shit would stop in less than 500 deaths if they turned up the heat a littl bit and saved us taxpayers some dollars.

Your take is what I'm talking about. We have a system where you are innocent of the alleged crime until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. There was a claim that the officer thought the suspect could be reaching for a gun. It was a situation in which the suspect had already led them on a high speed chase.

To convict the guy the prosecutor would, in my opinion, have prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the cop did NOT think the guy could be reaching for a gun. That, to me, would be pretty damned tough to do in a situation like that.

This thing where every time something like this comes up you have people acting like the protestors in that area are acting like is a factor in why we have an absurd situation where somebody like Trump could get elected via the Electoral College.

Thought exercise-

Assuming that each one of those guys is of equal skill, which one would you NOT want to face, if all you had was a pistol?

Shot gun dude because of the spray and pray potential.
Probably a push between the pistol and AR dude. Pistol dude gets the nod in close quarters.

Yep

Shotgun dude actually looks ex military - he won't spray and pray - he will drop you with that shotgun

Bow guy .... you might die laughing while he tries to nock an arrow but otherwise he's harmless

Pistol guy... that extended mag is a major liability and he is going to be very inaccurate. those mags are worthless. he's a classic example of why my 6 shot snub is better than having a whole box of ammo in a pistol

AR guy ... he has two problems- that scope is medium range and he cant bore sight it. His harness is way to close for using that front grip. He is going to be fumbling with it while you walk up and shoot him in the head

The guy on the right could be a threat from beyond pistol range. I'd want the shotgun if I had my choice.
