John F. Kelly Marine General / Chief of Staff
So...
What's the over/Under on General Kelly quitting the Chief of Staff position?
I'm going with second week of October as his last week as Chief of Staff
and I'm guessing he quits (Not fired)
any takers on that action ..?

Hasn't Kelly performed the necessary house cleaning? The deep state needs him to maintain at least a semblance of rationality. If he goes quickly, Trump won't be long to follow.

After the election, a buddy told me Trump would be a two term president. I offered a $100 bet. More recently I offered a $100 bet that Trump would be out of office by 8/20/2018. He took it.Chizzang wrote:As the vultures circle closer and closer Trump won't be able to resist blaming and criticizing General Kellykalm wrote:Hasn't Kelly performed the necessary house cleaning? I think it's more likely he'll structure a side deal and resign from officekalm wrote:After the election, a buddy told me Trump would be a two term president. I offered a $100 bet. More recently I offered a $100 bet that Trump would be out of office by 8/20/2018. He took it.Chizzang wrote:

He'll make it through his first term for sure because there is no way a Republican Controlled Congress is going to remove him from office and his nature is such that he's not going to resign.kalm wrote:After the election, a buddy told me Trump would be a two term president. Even if the Democrats gain control of the House there is no way he's going to be removed from office. Might be impeached but the Senate is not going to remove him from office as long as the majority of the frothing at the mouth portion of the Republican base that made him the Party nominee is out there.

I recently read somewhere that the dude who co-wrote/ghost-wrote (whichever it is) The Art of the Deal is predicting that Trump will bail sometime around Thanksgiving, or at least before the end of the year....kalm wrote:Hasn't Kelly performed the necessary house cleaning? I don't know what the over/under is but at this point he's already sacrificed his credibility on the alter of Trump.

I like this guy.
Of course, the progressives and Dreamers were on CNN this morning upset that someone would say that out loud.
https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/06/politics ... index.htmlThe difference between 690 and 1.8 million were the people that some would say were too afraid to sign up, others would say were too lazy to get off their asses, but they didn't sign up," Kelly added.

Do you like it because you think he's right or because it's edgy?

It's a bit of both.Skjellyfetti wrote:Do you like it because you think he's right or because it's edgy?
1) He's a Marine - not a politician. You have to understand that he's going to speak a different vernacular. Sure - moderate your speech for your audience but don't be upset when someone speaks like these and there's a grain of truth to it.
2) I 100% understand why someone would be afraid to sign up and that they think $500 every 2 years (which is ~$20/month) is a lot of money to apply and renew. I get that for children, coming up with that $ is difficult to come up with.
The solution seems like a no brainer - make them citizens. Put their fears to rest, make them citizens, give them a SSN and allow them to be out in the open. It's not their fault their parents broke the law. Some have been here for 35 years - all they've known is America. Make them citizens. If you want them to pay something, make it nominal and arrange it so their SSN triggers a tax that will be paid for 5 years. It costs about $725 to apply for citizenship - take an extra $12 out of their pay for 5 years if they can't pay for it up front. It isn't a perfect solution - but it's a start.
It's cheaper to become a citzen than to keep paying the renewals.

Re: John F. Kelly Marine General / Chief of Staff
What do we do with the millions of Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs) who immigrated here legally, but have still not naturalized, and would like to just be "made US citizens"? Do we just make them US citizens, or do they still have to jump through the lawful hoops because they did the right thing?Ibanez wrote:It's a bit of both.Skjellyfetti wrote:Do you like it because you think he's right or because it's edgy?

This is what happens when you skirt the rule of law.
We have to be unfair to the law abiding in order to be fair to the law breakers.
