He could have renegotiated without leaving it. We can't renegotiate it now.

It's another impulsive decision that he doesn't fully understand.

Paris is nonbinding political window dressing, Jelly

It can easily be renegotiated - and replaced with another useless political sop to the environment crowd

Seriously- when nearly every single country in the entire world signs on to something sight unseen - it means they don't have to DO anything

But don't let me obstruct your path to the fainting couch

We're not rejoining the agreement under different terms under Trump. Not gonna happen.

Oh spare me. This was an unconstitutional end around deal by King Obama. Congress never was given an opportunity to approve it, because Obama knew Congress would never approve it. Its not a climate deal, it's a political deal by a bunch of international socialists driven by a social engineering agenda designed to shift power & generate profit at our expense. If the US actually followed it it would have a negative effect on the US economy trying to suppress something, CO2, that isn't a pollutant.

What got me was him actually making this Statement:
At what point does America get demeaned? At what point do they start laughing at us as a country?
Uh, Donald, they started laughing at this country when this country elected you as President. That event was possibly the most demeaning and embarrassing thing to ever happen to the United States.

I'm sure thoughts like "what a bunch of idiots" were very prevalent at the time.

I wonder if he is truly obtuse enough to fail to realize that the rest of the World is laughing at the United States because HE is our President.

I'm watching the mayor of Pittsburgh...which was mentioned by President Trump during his speech...disagree with what Trump did. Also mentioning that the city of Pittsburgh voted 80% for Clinton.
For the President to choose Pittsburgh and say that he is representing us? That is a far stretch at best.

Oh! Well then!

The big three of Europe sez it can't be done

That's interesting... an ad hoc, nonbinding agreement that requires no effort or action on the part of anybody...

Somehow has a rulebook that says nobody can do boilerplate climate "agreements".... because you just cant

I guess that settles it

You are exactly why these things happen, Jelly.... because you think they mean something... anything

He might not have done well in Philly or Pittsburgh, but he rocked most of the rest of the state.

Why not renegotiate? Afraid they would get the short end of the stick? They don't seem very serious about helping.

The liberal meltdown on this is hysterical.

A feel good agreement that lets countries like China and India increase emissions while requiring the US to reduce their emissions. Great job of negotiating by Kerry and Obama! :dunce:

Didn't realize this, but read where Germany meeting it's emission goals was a big reason why Volkswagon was cheating on their cars. Came from an opinion piece in the WSJ, so not sure how solid it is, as I am skeptical of most opinion pieces.

My Facebook feed is hilarious. Don't know how 90% of my friends are liberal!

If only the pesky Constitution hadn't kept us from re-electing Barry. And didn't algore tells us many years ago that the Arctic would be ice free by now?

Capitalism is solving the problem without any agreements. US emissions are down. Fracking is part of it. Large corporations and consumers are demanding the purchase of renewable energy from utilities. People are putting up their own windmills and solar panels.

Well all those other countries must not care about global warming then because if they really did care they would want to negotiate to bring the US into the agreement wouldn't they?

It doesnt matter- any discussion of climate change that doesnt involve a discussion of how we get the world population down around 6.5 billion people is like discussing what we'll have for lunch when we arrive at Alpha Centauri next week

Brace yourselves....

But I totally agree with you and CID here. I can speak from a personal, local level that "liberal" politicians love the perception of appearing green and the accolades that go along with "meaningful" legislative agreements and platitudes....

Like I have said before, whatever is further down the tracks, the train is hitting it head on.

Instead of using the only braking system we have (atomic fission) we're going to settle with throttling down just a notch.

So brace for impact.
