BTW there is no way I'm going to take the time to read all 568 pages of that report but I did do a "find" on the word bias then read the content surrounding each occurrence (full report is at
https://www.justice.gov/file/1071991/download) . And it became clear that, though the IG found indications of text messages and such that created the appearance of bias among five individual persons they did not see actual actions suggesting that bias had any effect on investigative decisions. There was "buffer" provided by the numbers of people involved and also the actual actions of even those involved in the text messages showed no indication of bias. For example there is this language from the summary on page iii:
As we describe Chapter Five of our report, we found that Strzok was not the sole decisionmaker for any of the specific Midyear investigative decisions we examined in that chapter. We further found evidence that in some instances Strzok and Page advocated for more aggressive investigative measures in the Midyear investigation, such as the use of grand jury subpoenas and search warrants to obtain evidence.
Also, I have a question for those who think Strzok texting “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it” is a smoking gun. Can you point to anything the FBI actually DID prior to the election that might be construed as trying to stop Trump from winning? Were there any damaging leaks? Were there any leaks letting the public know the FBI was investigating the possibility of coordination between the Trump campaign and the Russians? Anything at all to indicate that any action by the FBI reflected some effort to stop Trump from winning?
