That's some great long game there, let the GOP have a full four year Presidential term, and then really stick it to them in the next Presidential cycle. I mean, they only gave up two SCOTUS picks while they were crafting this master strategy.

To me, if there was serious crimes committed in pursuit of the election and in the election (and I'm not including the shady financial stuff which has probably always been there for Trump, I'm talking stuff to throw an election to his favor) then it's a travesty of justice and our democracy that we're going to go a whole 4 years, and maybe more (because these things really take time dawgie says) investigating it before we bring it, and the principles in it and not just bit players, to prosecution.

The vast majority of stuff that's been indicted so far has had little to do with the election, and almost none of it to do with rigging the election. If we find out in 2020 that there's been proof of a rigged election, and we've been investigating it since before the 2016 election even happened (remember, this stuff was being looked at well in advance of Mueller even getting involved and in the spring and summer before that election even happened) then that's a stolen 4 years, cute political games aside. And if there wasn't any rigging of an election, then there's the other scary proposition of the precedent of a sitting President and his party beginning an investigation that will carry over in the administration of the next President of a different party. We all hope that Trump is just that exception and these crazy steps are just in response to a once in a lifetime development, but in the era of outrage 24/7 by the partisans on both sides, maybe this is the new normal we're establishing.
Your first paragraph is hilarious

Especially coupled with the Deep State playing the long game by creating an investigation out of the ether in 2016 intent on screwing Trump out of the Presidency... staying silent about it throughout the campaign... only to announce it after he's elected.

Well, according to our News Urinal, both Cohen and AOC’s campaign manager used Delaware LLCs, so there’s that. 8-)

Get a grip, there, Mildred. They didn't craft anything like master strategy, other than "it's her turn" and now we're all paying the price. I'm saying that's how they should play the cards they hold right now; the Senate won't convict and he'll come out in better shape than he went in like one of those youtube vids of the whale being dragged down entangled in the fishing net. Unless they have something that can nullify the election and void all of his decisions of course.

I read an article today that Brennan thinks indictments will come down this Friday.
The Friday after would be so much more poetic. :D

Would it? I mean, if you follow that all the way out, does Pence get to fill the role of Augustus Caesar and end up ushering out the last vestiges of the Republic? The Ides of March was just the Battle of the Bulge moment for Julius's most strident enemies - it didn't end well for any of them.

No...I wouldn't expect anything next week. If something BIG were to happen, I don't think Mueller would want it it to occur March 15th. Too much drama. :twocents:

Yeah... trying to predict what Mueller is going to do is a fool's errand.

Only relatively safe wager is that it will be on a Friday.

So the senstences Mueller has gotten so far have ranged in months and weeks to no time at all. Manafort has been the biggest comviction so far, and he just senteced to a whopping 47 months..

Nellie Ohr.

She's the creator of the Steele Dossier. Just needed Steele to take her information and launder it before giving it to FBI or reporters.

Just read through some of the Bruce Ohr testimony. Not looking good for the "deep state". There are going to be some back room deals to save face.

Yeah this is from some Foxnews shill, but this pretty much sums up this Cohen show:
:coffee: 8-)
"President Trump's former personal attorney Michael Cohen told House investigators this week that staff for Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., traveled to New York at least four times to meet with him for over 10 hours immediately before last month’s high-profile public testimony, according to two sources familiar with the matter -- as Republicans question whether the meetings amounted to coaching a witness."

This just shows how the coached testimony of a proven liar was a complete partisan charade..
