jellybelly deserves to get shat on for his perpetuation of this hoax on this board for over 2 years. Anyone who thinks otherwise just doesn't understand how this place works.houndawg wrote:Your fascination with all things jelly is noted, but we hope you'll be able respect the boundary between hero worship and an unhealthy obsession by stepping back to this side of that line....SDHornet wrote:

Yes, his siggy with your (soon to be) spot on post is still up.
It's in jellybelly's best interests to never return to this board. What a **** dumb ass he was in this whole thread.

Suffice to say Barr’s clearance process was perfectly normal. Department principals obviously go to the front of the line, but the investigation was not abnormally fast.houndawg wrote:Yes. There is an enormous world outside of yours that has no idea what an SF86 process is.CID1990 wrote:

A simple google search will show that he had the same clearances before, meaning he only needed an update.
Unless you got some derogatory info on him out there in the Big Grass we don’t know about

Why would his lawyer put out a press release saying they're seeking immunity?
If the FBI was interested in granting him immunity, certainly going public like that wouldn't be a part of it? No?
Flynn's offer of testimony in exchange for immunity was a result of that- which is why I'm nearly certain the FBI has already suggested that they can charge him on the Turkey thing. The fact that the FBI hasn't offered him immunity is because right now the Turkey payment is all they have, and the FBI knows Flynn knows nothing about cooperation with the Russians on the election, at least in his own sphere
There could be information that none of us knows yet, but based on what we do know, and the behavior of the FBI and the main players in this thing- it all points to that the Russians did tamper with public opinion during the elections, and team Trump didn't coordinate with them.

Ok. Results of a quality poll, the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll came out today and they are consistent with results of other polls in suggesting that Barr's topline report on the Mueller report did not move the needle much if at all. Here's an article on it:
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/meet-t ... de-n989061
The poll was conducted entirely after Barr's "summary" or whatever the heck it was came out. Only 29% of respondents believed Trump has been cleared of wrongdoing while 40% say they do not believe he has been cleared.
Also, he was down 53% to 43% among respondents in terms of job approval. That compares to 52% disapprove vs. 46% approve when the February NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll was conducted. That doesn't mean he's doing worse now because it's not a "significant" difference. But there's certainly no indication that he's doing better.
Good deal. Trump may think what happened with the Mueller report helped him. But it's pretty clear now that it didn't. Now we need for the Democrats to restrain themselves to at least some extent at least in terms of how they are perceived. They do need to insist on having key members of certain committees seeing the report un-redacted. But they need to avoid reaching once they see. We spent the entire Obama Administration seeing Republicans in Congress over-reach and the first two years of the Trump Administration seeing Republicans in Congress obviously shift into "protect the President" mode. The Democrats have at least a CHANCE to create the impression that they're being objective.
I won't hold my breath but they at least have a chance.

Re: Сделаем Америку снова великой! Trump - Russia megathread
I honestly don't think that was a hard prediction because of the Senate. For Trump to "go anywhere" regardless of what the Mueller report said we'd have had to have the Democrats win the Senate by a margin sufficient to convict Trump after impeachment. That was always extremely unlikely. Republicans are clearly in a "protect Trump no matter what" mode. Had Mueller said Trump himself conspired with Russia to influence the election Republicans would now be attacking Mueller. It's pretty clear that the Republican Party has completely thrown principle to the wind and will defend Trump no matter what.Chizzang wrote:Do I win anything for saying a year and a half ago that Trump isn't going anywhere..?Ivytalk wrote:

And because of that I think it was always the case that Trump being thrown out of office via means other than the 2020 election was unlikely.
Right now I think getting the Trump atrocity out via election is pretty much a toss up proposition. But there is certainly a very reasonable chance.

Andrew McCarthy:

“When Special Counsel Mueller closed his investigation last week, he almost certainly knew for about a year and a half that there was no collusion case. Indeed, the indictments that he did bring appeared to preclude the possibility that the Trump campaign conspired with the Kremlin.”
Hey Jelly ..... come on out and play! I think you ridiculed me when I put this forward many months ago... now the timeline is making it look like I may well have been correct- that Mueller knew there was no “there” there on a conspiracy early on. But he had to make a show.

Great then there should be no reason for Barr not to release the complete un-redacted report to Congress. As time goes on and I continue to see discussion of this it's becoming clearer and clearer that there would be nothing illegal about releasing the un-redacted report to authorized people in Congress. And it's looking more and more like the Republicans are interested in hiding things. I don't even know if they know what they want to hide. But they clearly don't want the Democrats to see the entire content of that report.SeattleGriz wrote:

If Republicans really believe there is nothing to hide they should just support the Democrats in getting a judge or judges to authorize release of Grand Jury information. Congress sees classified information all the time. Just get all the information laid out.
It's looking more and more to me like Republicans think there might be some things that need to be hidden.
