So Horowitz referred McCabe for possible criminal charges and nothing out of jellybean on the matter? Shocker.

Just to be clear, this is the guy who was head of the FBI when it appointed Mueller for the special prosecutor role, who also signed off on the FISA warrants to wire tap Trump Tower, has been referred to the DOJ for criminal charges...explains why he had a gofundme page for defense attorney fees last month.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/04/19/politics ... index.html

Interesting stuff from Comey-Lynch as well. IG report must be pretty good.

There was some malfeasance - but, nothing even remotely close to some Deep State conspiracy.

He's accused of leaking to the Wall Street Journal that the FBI was trying to press forward on an investigation into the Clinton Foundation - despite pushback from the Justice Department. His leak was pretty clearly going after Lynch.

Also, still not sure what it has to do with the Mueller investigation. You have so much wrong in your short post.

"This is the guy who was head of the FBI when it appointed Mueller for the special prosecutor role."

The FBI had no role in appointing Mueller. That's the Attorney General (Rod Rosenstein as the acting AG in this case since Sessions had to recuse himself). McCabe had nothing to do with Mueller's appointment.

I'll give you a pass on "special prosecutor" since that is confusing. But, McCabe appointing Mueller? :dunce:

"who also signed off on the FISA warrants to wire tap Trump Tower"

When was there a FISA warrant on Trump Tower? Carter Page had a FISA warrant on him after he left the campaign. How are you interpreting that as a wiretap on Trump Tower? :dunce:

McCabe signed off one 1 of 3 FISA renewals on Carter Page. He wasn't the only one that had to sign off - Rosenstein (a Trump appointee) also signed off on the same warrant as well as judges appointed by Chief Justice John Roberts. There was already a FISA warrant and 2 previous renewals that had to demonstrate the previous ones had been productive. :?

But, McCabe was responsible for the "wire tap on Trump Tower." :dunce:

Getting a FISA on Carter Page allowed them to listen to whoever they wanted to in Page's group, hence Trump. Why the need to renew the FISA three additional times?

Why do you think Trump packed up and left DC after the NSA director told him about the abuses to the system?

While this is a stretch, I wouldn't doubt part of all his golfing is to make sure stuff doesn't get leaked when he wants to talk with others. Everything else gets leaked. Lol.

That's not at all how it works.

They could listen if Page was making calls to people in the Trump campaign. I'm sure that didn't happen much... since he was an insignificant coffee boy who was no longer with the campaign. Certainly doubt he was making calls to Trump - or that is very interesting new information I wasn't aware of.

A FISA warrant doesn't give you blanket authority to wiretap every associate of the person.

SeattleGriz wrote:Why the need to renew the FISA three additional times?
Because FISA warrants expire.

You have to go back to the courts and demonstrate that it has been productive.

Sorry, should have been more clear with what I was implying. The FISAs were renewed to extend surveillance on Trump. 360 days worth in total.

You don't find it incongruent that Page was a previous Russia informant for the FBI and they needed to surveil a guy for a whole year, especially considering what little role he actually played in the Trump group?

Pretty obvious Page wasn't the actual target.

PS. Don't forget I'm hoping for the Deep State takedown version. Ha.

If I were JSO, and this was a thread about voters and exit polls in the last election, I would feel compelled to point out that 112 is just 4.85% of 2311, which even lower than 6.93%.

For the dotards that think you have to count things on the internet - there's actually a cool feature called a "search" that does it for you in seconds.

Jellybean is just being naive about the whole thing...I mean look he bought the Russian collusion narrative hook line and sinker and now it's biting him and his fellow leftists in the ass. If TT wasn't bugged, Trump wouldn't have relocated, it's that simple. The dude that signed off on the FISA warrant extensions that used a fake DNC dossier and a yahoo article for justification is no big deal to him.

Also no mention from jelly on the fact that the Comey memos were finally release after months of FBI stonewalling, finally something on Russian collusion and obstruction of justice...oh wait, stated that Trump was glad to have Comey stay on and did not ask for the investigation to be shut down. Whoops.

https://www.documentcloud.org/documents ... memos.html

More Russian collusion narratives implode on jellybean and the leftists...guess the only hope to oust Trump is with whatever dirt (non-Russian collusion related of course) they can dig up from Cohen.

And we are still waiting on more to be made public form Horowitz. :coffee:

Besides the fact that the bill, if it ever became law, wouldn't pass Constitutional muster either. Firing Mueller would never be illegal - he works for the Executive branch and for the President. This isn't a legal thing, it's a political thing (like impeachment) and it would be handled there. Amazing that we can pass laws like this quickly but can't tackle stuff like health care or immigration over multiple decades.

Congress has oversight responsibility over the executive branch.

The independent prosecutor was established by Congress after Watergate and was primarily motivated to check Presidential / Executive branch authority. Nixon firing Archibald Cox was ruled illegal in federal court - and, though SCOTUS didn't rule on it - seems their silence on it has some bearing.

The law expired and is under DoJ regulations now - but, I don't see why you think Congress can't pass a law regarding the special counsel - considering there's precedent.
