Never will happen. The left made it loud and clear during the last election cycle how bad of an idea it is to have an inexperienced celebrity TV host billionaire as president.houndawg wrote:Pwns wrote:

Actually, if Hillary starts sniffing around again I would hope Oprah would run for sure -
and get a Godzilla vs Mothra level beatdown from some political neophyte like Oprah in the primaries
But it wouldn't happen - the Clinton Machine (TM) doesn't do business that way.... they'd try to talk people like Oprah out of running first - with promises of ambassadorships or cabinet positions

Did anyone else, watching the game last night, notice that it appears that the Donald doesn't know the national anthem?

Re: The Official "Making America Great Again" Thread
Yup, the backlash from the left on the idea of Oprah being President is already in full swing. Heck, the even further left are saying she's just hopping on to the #MeToo bandwagon late in the game while many others have been fighting the good fight for decades. And on top of that, you'd have to wonder how some on the left would deal with her business ties. She's not as shady as Trump, but her name is her brand and her business dealings are pretty extensive. Political partisans on both sides of the aisle are pretty adept at navigating hypocritical conundrums, but I'm not sure they could do enough backflips to go ahead with Oprah as a candidate.Ivytalk wrote:POTY nominee!Baldy wrote: Never will happen. The left is going for most #1s. First black, first female, first homosexual, etc...
Also - Oprah and Obama have the same number of letters in the last name. Coincidence? I think not!!

Could be, I'm just relaying what I see from the Women's Studies Prof I'm friends with on FB and other rumblings I hear. She would be difficult for them to vote against, and frankly, they'd vote for anyone who would run against Trump if Trump is on the ticket in 2020, so all this would just be blowing in the wind. Right now, they don't want her to run.Ibanez wrote:Democrats don't care. Oprah is 3 things that matter to the left -GannonFan wrote:

For 25+ years, Oprah was (and probably still is) the most powerful figure, by a country mile, in the celebrity media. There is no doubt that #sheknew.SDHornet wrote:GannonFan wrote:

That the irony of this hollywood #metoo thing. All of them "knew" either directly or heard enough rumors...and the casting couch was something that existed in hollywood ever since hollywood became hollywood.

He did the same thing in church at his inauguration. I'm not sure he doesn't know the words as much as he doesn't really seem to like singing with everyone else, or maybe singing at all.Ibanez wrote:Did anyone else, watching the game last night, notice that it appears that the Donald doesn't know the national anthem?
