I listen to the same outlets as you I am sure, for as long as I can stand the views. Sometimes they promote news and I listen, sometimes they promote views and I flip the channel.

PBS programing is better in the evening than it is through the day. I am recovering from a surgery and have been watching PBS programming thru the day that I rarely see at night. It leaves a lot to be desired.

Good luck with the recovery.

I hope your surgeon wasn't a dirty Muslin, homosexual, liberal, trans or any other person or group you find nefarious.

Villainous applies to any evil, depraved, or vile conduct or characteristic, while nefarious (which derives from the Latin noun nefas, meaning "crime") suggests flagrant breaching of time-honored laws and traditions of conduct.

As you can see, it depends on what your political view is, pro Muslim, pro gay, pro trans, pro socislist, pro left, Anti right, to you is slightly left, to a conservative in his 60s, as defined by the definition pasted above ... it is nefarious.

No it isn't. It's the wrong word.

I hope the muslims, gays, trans, socialists all do well and improve as human beings. You should too, after all there are literally billions of them and we're probably going to have to continue sharing the planet with them.

You got caught and can't admit it.

Once again;

while nefarious (which derives from the Latin noun nefas, meaning "crime") suggests flagrant breaching of time-honored laws and traditions of conduct.

For a conservative in his 60s, these things and many more social changes are indeed nefarious. The social norm at one time was not like if is now.

I don't care of your personal opinion agrees or disagrees ... I know the social norms of the country I live in thru my life and I see the nefarious changes being promoted thru media and educational systems.

The biggest reason for millions of people to undergo mass extermination when the true socialist take over a country is for this very reason ... people like me will not change so they need to be eliminated to ensure they are never a viable alternative ever again.

How did we jump from "PBS is evil and criminal" to genocide of baby boomers? Changing social norms isn't always bad. It used to be the norm to shun unwed mothers and call blacks the n-word in public. I think we can both say that we don't really do that any more and we're better off. I'm not advocating socialism but just because somethings aren't they way the used to be, doesn't make then "nefarious".

I'm guessing you see acceptance, compassion and tolerance of people that are unlike yourself as "nefarious", correct?

You're a con which hates leftist-ideologies and espouses some odd **** about being a non-conformist. You pretend to value facts, yet when facts don't fit your world-view, they become an issue.

So stop pretending to have some grand outsider's perspective of the world. You're a conservative; I'm a liberal; others here are moderates. The rest of this BSing around is unnecessary.
Wow

You figured out that I am a Conservative?

Was it by all the times I stated that I am a conservative, or by some other clever means?

What I am not ... I am not a Republican but I vote that way when the candidate is a conservative ... see how this works? I am expecially a fiscally conservative person although my socially conservative nature is being dragged out by these extreme leftist views.

And I have never been in doubt of the fact that you are a liberal. Image

People like you really make me chuckle when you rant against Christianity for your reasons, but can't even begin to understand why I can't accept Christianity because my reasons are rooted in truth and your reasons are rooted in ideologies.

The old standards of our society vs the new movements of our society are what extract words like nefarious.

Now as for the issues you mentioned, based on objective reasoning, and not on the norms that we accepted thru our life, I agree 100% on the necessary changes we have undergone.

I have stated before that the need to overturn roe v wade is not a conservative view that I can embrace, you can't undo the 5o million dead babies, it is over.

Many bad decisions were made by our ancestors, and these changes were good changes ... the pendulum needs to swing both ways but it hasn't returned yet. There are special interest groups that are over running the government and legal system now.

I can't see the long term future any more than you, but the short term future is looking bleak.

Don't know that we will become socialistic but it appears to be one of several possibilities.

It would be nice to view a news program that just covers the news. Some are more subtle than others.

Listening to fox is the right wing channel, and that is ok if you want right wing news. I just want middle of the road, non political news....

Do they still air the BBC World News? IIRC that seemed dry and straight forward.

I’d also recommend Democracy Now.
Is that as good as RT?

I agree that things start changing, with the help of the media, dramatically in the 70's.

Some change is good if it helps society as a whole. We need a fair social environment for all people to live in, this is necessary.

I was raised by a single mother of 4 in a time when there was no minimum wage and we moved often because mom worked 1 full time and 2 part time jobs to make ends meet, but the bills were to much.

Inspite of being a fiscal conservative I still support social assistance for people in need. We can do this.

The wars are breaking the bank, not assistance programs. I am a Veteran but these wars are not all necessary, what started off as a reaction to 9-11 has escalated into a nightmare.

I can't stand the new ABC news format. Big stretch with no commercials, then 30 seconds of news sandwiched between 4 minutes of commercial/s at the end... when the have the stories you actually want to see.
Why the Farm and Harvest Report
It's a great local show on PBS. It's not really for farmers, it's for suburb folk like me to see cool things about farming in MD. Rural lite stuff, like they have in Delaware.

Well, its football too

but yeah- faculties have expanded with feel good positions that have little to do with liberal arts education

At The Citadel they added a few assistant Commandants for this or that.... strangely right around 1994 or so

Japanese billionaire Yusaka Maezawa will be one of the first civilian passengers to fly around the moon. As an art collector, he'll be paying for 6-8 artists to go on the journey as well. In return, he wants art inspired by their trip to the moon. So if you're an artist and want a sweet residency program, here's your chance.
