Criticism and ridicule were immediate. So this morning he was on CNN trying to claim he didn't actually say what he said:"Do you believe that we, in terms of the United States, need to pay a hundred cents on the dollar, or do you think that there's actually ways that we can renegotiate that debt?" That's not at all what he said. Answering "yeah" to the question of whether we can renegotiate debts then saying "I have borrowed knowing you can pay back with discounts" is not saying what he claims he said. Saying "you can pay back with discounts" is not saying "we can buy back government debt at a discount." The lying SOB was lying....again. And he does that crap all the time. He says something stupid or obviously untrue and tries to claim he never said it.“I said if we can buy back government debt at a discount -- in other words if interest rates go up and we can buy bonds back at a discount -- if we are liquid enough as a country, we should do that,” he said.
