Why would Ryan meet with Trump?

Post by JohnStOnge »

If Ryan's "not there yet" with Trump what on Earth could happen in a meeting to bring him "there?" Trump is a pathological liar. He can't be trusted. He's either just going to be a prick and nothing is going to be accomplished or he is going to just say whatever it is he thinks Ryan wants to hear. He will not hesitate to claim later that he didn't say it.

He is what he is. Ryan's already seen what he is. And what he is is an abomination. He's not going to change. Ryan should just do the right thing and say there is no way he can support somebody like that to be President of the United States. We need a "Profiles in Courage" moment here rather than blind political party loyalty.

Paul Ryan is a worthless, lying piece of shit. Why shouldn't two liars meet?

Because Trump is the single, most important person in the Republican Party right now.

Just show some courage and say Trump is an abomination and you cannot recommend that the People of the United States elect him as President.

The process is an abomination. The system is an abomination. It needs to be broken up. Trump might just be the guy to do it.

Show some courage and quit thinking within the box.

So are you telling me you intend to vote for Trump?

BTW, in my opinion I think "outside of the box" more than anybody on this board. Well, maybe Spanos might have me beat. But that's a different kind of thing. I'm talking about being willing to challenge the "received wisdom." See impaired driving. Racial differences. Biology as a factor in sexual attraction vs. social constructs. So on and so forth.

You can accuse me of many things. But keeping my thinking inside of the standard "box" is not one of them.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

knowledge or information that people generally believe is true, although in fact it is often false

The fact you BELIEVE you think outside the box more than anybody on this board is self induced "received wisdom".

I've been one of the few that has, more than others, agreed with JSO's logic.

However, JSO has gone into full batshlt mode on Trump.

JSO's lost whatever respect he has, and has sounded more and more similar to some low information TV show. Hillary has lied about state secrets...she's lied about, and been on the side of, killing hundreds of thousands of people in order to appease the Saudi nut jobs, she consistently uses her minions to race bait, and then pretends to take the high road, and she consistently goes after, and tries to destroy, anyone who opposes her. Hillary is a dangerous, lying sack of sht. And JSO supports her because Trump lies 61 times about things such as steaks, while also snapping back at some folks who attack him.

You know what probably happened? JSO's wife took one look at Trump and fell in love with him. Now JSO is losing his mind.

  That's rich. Man. That made me lulz. You. Thinking outside the box. You, who believes a person chooses their innate, sexual attraction. You who believes people go through the anguish and internal torment before coming out as transgender, choose that lifestyle. Yeah, people CHOOSE to have such an internal struggle that they are often suicidal. That's right. You think "outside of the box" so much so that you probably have a 99% Republican voting record (and i'm pretty sure i'm right about that).

Yeah, you're as much as a "outside of the box" thinker as dbj is tolerant of people with opposing views.

We all have choices.

If you believe that your sexual preferences aren't really your choice...then why should you believe that a person's anger levels, political ideals, taste for/against meat, or whether someone likes math or meth, is a choice?

It would be silly to believe that anything is our choice if you think sexual orientation isn't a choice. If people are born gay, that then leads towards us being more genetically programmed than we'd like to think. If things aren't our choice, and are a result of biology, then racial stereotypes could be confirmed.

Of course, the advancement of the argument that the things we do are biologically determined undermines the whole religious idea of God giving man the ability to think independently. 8-)

Tough to have, "choice/born to be" going only one way. :coffee:

Taking a break from pointing and laughing at JSO, on the subject of the thread. Why WOULDN'T the Speaker of the House meet with one of two of the Presdiential candidates???

It's an interesting topic and I understand your point. To a certain degree, it makes sense and I agree.

However I would suggest that we make choices based off our environment and experiences in addition to our biology. Is there a biological reason for you to love sailing?

Biologically, you didn't make the decision to be born a man. But you do make the decision to support UD football. :thumb:

And it would not surprise me if scientists discover that people that are gay or transgendered are so b/c of some part of the brain did XYZ when it should've done ABC during development - some mutation perhaps.

Everyone has a common genetic make up that is then altered depending on your sex hormones. We have nipples; science suggests that it's a few hormones that turn the clit into a penis; that seam on your nutsack, it's a reminder that you could've had a vagina. I read a lot in 2014 when my wife was pregnant and I don't recall if it's the first 30 or 60 days, but we all women until the 30th or 60th day. It's at that point that testosterone will kick in - if it's supposed to.

In short, we all start out as women until sex hormones define us.

So, is it possible that something goes wrong in development? :coffee:
