I wouldn’t bet against Musk, but...Ivytalk wrote:Can you spell F-I-S-K-E-R?93henfan wrote:Tesla production is still less than 50% projected (and necessary) to meet promised orders for the Model 3. They are cash-strapped (badly) and have two rounds of bonds coming due.
I’m not rooting against them by any means, but I’ll be watching curiously as Musk attempts to navigate through the latest fiscal and quality difficulties.
That company is toast. Chizzang, I hope you took my advice and shorted that stock.
At what point do the behemoths (Toyota, VW, Ford, GM) say, “ok niche guy, we’re going to go ahead and crush you now”? Mass production with high quality is what those companies butter their bread with. If they need any trade secrets, they’ll just hire Tesla’s brains away.

Elon Musk wouldn't be upset if Toyota, VW, Ford, and GM built better, cheaper electric cars that crush Tesla. His goal is spurring innovation.

So there's no chance that the other driver was at fault / Because the Tesla was in Auto-pilot
it is automatically at fault..?
You are aware of the percentage of Tesla Auto Pilot "at fault accidents" right..?

Tesla stock bounced back +8.35 (3.24%) after this report was filed Friday
1) The driver had over ridden the "Control Follow Distance" and set it to minimum...
2) The driver had received a "hands on warning" 6 seconds prior to the accident
3) At no point did the driver actually take the wheel in the six seconds leading up to impact
4) The driver had an unobstructed view of approximately 150 meters
5) and never took any evasive action
What do you want to bet his cell service information incriminates him
Texting while his alarm system is telling him to take control of his vehicle

I used to own a 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid. It was a great car and i'd buy my wife one if it weren't for the expensive repairs (or for the fact it's discontinued.) Honda replaced the battery due to a recall but I ultimately sold it b/c the brake system was failing and the part alone was $2500.

It's not TESLA as much as automated driving software I'm defending
If every car was fully automated TODAY we'd see an accident rate drop of biblical proportions
And yet... here we are

This is why I can't understand why they named it the Volt.93henfan wrote:BDK drives a Chevy Dolt.Ivytalk wrote: Duh, Captain Obvious. My SIL drives a Volt. I know whereof I speak.
I mean, if Tesla can figure out they shouldnt name the Tesla 3 the "Tesla E" (because the model lineup would spell S E X) then you'd think Chevy wouldn't tee up Volt
