Officials from BART, the public metro system serving California's San Francisco Bay area, have come under fire for their refusal to release crime surveillance videos, claiming such tapes will promote stereotypes and "stir up racial animosity."

A BART official defended the agency's decision on Monday by saying information about criminal misconduct will be withheld at this time because of the media's "disproportionate elevation" of crimes that "unfairly affect and characterize riders of color," the San Francisco Chronicle reported.....

.....In an email to BART’s board last week, Kerry Hamill, the assistant general manager of external affairs, warned that releasing such footage would increase racial tensions and present the agency as racially biased, reported the paper, which obtained a copy of the email. ...."

So roving packs of black teens are assaulting & robbing BART riders, but they can't release the train videos showing said roving bands of black teens assaulting & robbing BART riders, because somehow that is racially biased.. :suspicious:
They don't want to be seen as racially biased so they will withhold it due to race? What?! :dunce:
As long as they release the videos when it's creepy ass crackas.

True, but there are better ways of handling it. I'm not defending the airlines by any stretch since they routinely overbook and sell the same seats twice, but he could have not made it personal against the folks on the plane that had nothing to do with his reservation.

This man paid his good money to be on that flight. Hell yeah, I would be pissed off.

I'm not arguing that. He went after the folks on the flight that could have helped him make the best of a bad situation, and he could have raised hell with the airline afterward. Acting like that probably nearly got him arrested and I doubt he made it to his destination anywhere near on time. I'd rather they acknowledge their mistake, get me on a comparable flight, and reward my cooperation with an upgrade, free flight, or more miles. People are a lot more likely to help you out if you aren't telling them to eff themselves.

I ride the BART when I go to the Bay Area, but not with Chizzy. It's a very interesting ride each time, awesome place to people watch. The Oakland routes are the best. We stay in the Pleasanton area when we go. Tried to meet up with Travelin Man at one point, but too busy and our skeds didn't match.

Agree/Disagree. It depends on the person. Me, I'd get off and accept the money and hotel room. My wife, would be pissed off like this guy. People are different. I understand both sides of the argument. But this isn't racial like BDK made it. I know plenty of white people that would react the same way. He got personal when the other people in seats were telling him to get off the plane.

When he passed, I was bummed for his family and bummed because I didn't get to meet him in person.

Have to mention the BART stuff to my wife, she's going solo next Tuesday to her client.

Sounds like it wasn't an overbook situation, but the dude missed his earlier flight and was flying on standby, and only Comfort+ was available.

It's the best way to travel in the Bay area. We had an apartment for a couple years, near the Dublin/Pleasanton station. Would walk over, jump on the train and go to an A's game or downtown San Fran. Enough trains and trolley's to get anywhere else. We drive, if we go to the Alameda Antique Show, or out of town, to Napa, Santa Cruz etc. Now we just go for a short week almost every quarter.

Young (22) black male killing at random 5 white males over the last year not worth national attention by the MSM. Victims and perp are the wrong color for it to be a hate crime.
http://www.kansascity.com/news/local/cr ... 48557.html

Now imagine if the races of the victims and perp were reversed. This would have been all over national news, with calls for hate crimes prosecution, and how the killer was probably inspired by Trump, and how the right has cultivated this atmosphere of hate, and how we needed to have a national dialog on race, etc, etc, etc.
