In Charleston, Chief Greenberg kept the concentration of cops in the tourist areas at about 3-4 times the level of any other places in the city. It was low profile so people wouldn't notice, but we were there. The message was clear, though - don't mess with the piggy bank.

At this point the only reason Baltimore won't become a complete wasteland is because of the port and the rail

But if they want to have any semblance of a liveable place where people want to go... they better police this sh1t

When I lived in Baltimore from 1977-1982 the Inner Harbor area they speak of was actually mostly closed off and at night the police put up manned barricades and stopped people from entering

Baltimore, which has by far the highest per-capita homicide rate among the nation’s biggest cities, is on track to have its worst year on record.
