What? Have you read anything in the past few days? 100% safety is impossible. But 2 decades without a mass shooting is a good start. Unlike here....

But either repeal 2A or STFU.

This gun rights discussion is exhausting since neither side wants to address loopholes and mental health. They want to register everyone or make every gun legal. There’s too much rigidity on both sides

This morning we woke up to the news that a terrorist opened fire and killed at least 49 people who were peacefully worshipping in two Mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

In the face of this horror, we are all mourning. But, we must also stand resolved against hate, bigotry and white supremacy.

While we are still learning a lot about the situation, early reports indicate that the terrorist who committed this act of atrocity was a rightwing extremist who appears to have been motivated by the white supremacy he sees in the United States. In addition, he praised Donald Trump as a symbol for white nationalism and supremacy. The growing white supremacy that exists in our country is transcending borders and infecting others with hate.

This isn’t the first time that a white supremacist attacked a group of worshipers – committed to their faith – in their place of worship. This attack was on Muslims, but in the United States we have seen such attacks in churches and synagogues.

In the face of this terrorism and white supremacy, we cannot live in fear. We will continue to be stronger than this Islamophobia and hate. We must rise up and speak out against attacks on individuals who are peacefully worshipping.

I am attending Jumu’ah prayers today and regardless of your faith I ask that you take a moment to recommit to the work of peace, dignity, respect, and prosperity for all people.

Jummah Mubarak,

Ilhan Omar

Don’t be so prissy.

This woman is a disease. Every time she opens her mouth, she divides. She and Tlaib are the biggest bigots in Congress.

I though Jummah Mubarak was a power forward for the Timberwolves.

Repeal the 2A or STFU isn’t rigid at all.

We have a mechanism for changing the Constitution. I simply state that the Constitution tells the government “hands off”. If you want to put “hands on” without due process of law, then you need to amend or repeal it. All else is just unconstitutional noise and static

I’m all in favor of any measure that takes guns out of the hands of the nutters but leaves them in law abiding hands ... figure out how to do that without violating the Constitution ....... hence, repeal it or STFU

If anything, my position is the middle way- it honors the Constitution AND it gets the guns out of criminals’ hands (in theory)

to you murdering 50 people makes sense as part of some grand scheme

One thing I've learned is that it takes a demented fundamentalist to know a demented fundamentalist post.

I'm not suggesting he was paid, you are. I merely suggest that if you are going out, might as well get the best bang for your buck.

You are always reaching trying to pigeon hole me into something I'm not. You and I agree on a lot, more than you can admit, and you try and separate our beliefs with these responses.

This board to me is entertainment, and yes I admit that I have a demented mind, and I love it. A year ago would you have believed a Jussie Smollett event? I'm just adding fuel to the fire on this message board, and getting a very entertaining response from you.

And for the record, I think it detesting to see all these mass murders, abortions and people being killed via capital punishment.

that is very telling you would say that, while Steve King, Louie Gomert, Paul Gosar, Debbie Lesko and the rest of the nutjob "Freedom" Caucus are still around. The GOP has dozens of outright white supremecists, but the snowflake GOP gets all butthurt of a couple of women.

Disgusting, really.

Someone may already posted on this but I started wondering about something. I was wondering why a guy from Australia would go to New Zealand to shoot Muslims. Then I thought that maybe it's because the gun laws in New Zealand aren't as strict as they are in Australia.

If that turns out to be the case it'll make for some interesting discussion. But at this point I don't even know if gun laws are stricter in Australia.

Either way it's weird that an Australian worried about Muslims populating the homeland would go to some country other than his own to shoot Muslims.

Gil,
again, that's a super convenient "out" for you...
At some point you have to own what you say and not wiggle out with this naive innocent awe' shucks

:tothehand:

Secondly you say I'm reaching
as though you didn't say what you said in print
But you doubled down on it in your next post about how people were pretending to be one thing then another
and then said I was reaching
