Re: Why put a I-AA team on your football schedule?
For me, FCS scheduling 2 or more FBS games isn't necessarily a body-bag issue, although it could easily be. If a Montana were to schedule, say, Tulsa and Buffalo, that would be two easy Griz wins. But given the "difference" in status, it would likely require two away games which wouldn't ...

Re: Iowa Supreme Court to Rule on Gay Marriage
The United States General Accounting office in has listed more than 1,100 benefits the government provides to legally married couples. People in committed relationships but unable to marry are denied most of those benefits. And there you have it folks. This is not a moral/religous/ethical issue. Th...

Tedisco is a tool. He's a Capital Region rep and when I wrote to him asking why he was supporting SUNY Buffalo's bid to effectively separate itself from the SUNY system at the expense of Albany (and Bing and SBU) he wrote back telling me that he was doing it because Albany didn't propose the same th...

Re: Goodell wants longer NFL regular season
I agree that 4 preseason games isn't needed, but can you really expect to play more than 16 game seasons? Maybe it would come with an expanded roster adding 10 or so more players for extra depth. That would be great because it would open up the NFL for more college players to get in.

Re: Wagner 2009 Schedule
This schedule is so bad........if you have to scramble to find a replacement game and you end up with a DIII fine. But that's not the case here.
1. NDSU and SDSU have openings that Wagner could have filled.
2. Wagner has absolutely no excuse for travelling to a DIII school. Ever.

Re: Newspapers As Non-Profits
Easy analysis:
Cost of a NY times yearly subscription (7 days) - $275
Cost of a Dell netbook: $199
Easy math. Bad for the papers unless they start charging for use of their websites like WSJ does.

Re: Albany official schedule release
If Albany wins two of three from UMass, Ga Southern, and Maine, and wins the NEC undefeated, I don't see how they could not get in. NEC offers what 40 schollies now? NEC is only at 34 this year ( :lame: ). 2 a year to 40 max from here on out. Hopefully Albany will be out of the NEC after the 2010 s...

Re: Albany official schedule release
Its going to be tough to get an at-large. Next year is also a conditional AQ year that will grant an AQ to the NEC champ if that team has 2 OOC wins over AQ leagues, has 8 DI wins, and is ranked at an average of 16 or higher in the Coaches, Sportsnetwork and the modified GPI (computers only). I can ...

Re: Courts need more staff to manage spike in bankruptcy filings
its not funny money - the bills get paid and our team doesn't have any NY based clients. Mostly mid-western and international. They will likely never come down. Most have been frozen this year though. They have gone tremendously in the past 10 years. I don't have the exact stats, but the key indica...

I'm not a judge and likely will never be one ( lack of Ivy league legal education is more often than not a barrier) . I just think that, relatively speaking they are underpaid. I hate that mentality. Narrows the ability of the judiciary to break out of certain thought pattern. Its a good ole boys c...

Many have argued so.... But here's my take on that question that I get asked often - you're only worth what someone is willing to pay you. As long as people are willing to pay my boss $1000 an hour to tell them what to do, then he's not overpaid. They can always go to another tax lawyer and p...

These people think that judges are not underpaid... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/20/washington/20bar.html And you will have a hard time convincing many that $170K is too little. All numbers games there. There is no sound empircal way to study judicial quality. That's both the defense to the argum...

believe me when I tell you that Judges have been underpaid for a very very long time. I made more in base salary my fisrt year out of law school then Federal district court judges make. And I'll probably make more than Chief Justice Roberts this year when all is said and done. They need a pay raise,...
