Re: Hill Dems Blame AIG Bonus Mess on Obama
In the time-honored Democratic practice of cannibalism, Democrats on the Hill are focusing their ire squarely on their new President for the AIG Bonus Fiasco... http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0309/20209.html I expected this pissing match but not quite so quickly - Pelosi wants to be the alpha...

How do you figure? Can you back that statement up with FACT? As far as you can back up that it WOULDN'T be the case with something other than hyperbole. I think a pretty convincing argument could be made that regardless of who was President that the Russians would have their panties in a bunch over...

obama is the one that lied. he is not working with the gop like he said during the campiagn Uh, WRONG. He did try to work with the GOP. The GOP wouldn't work with him. The only way the GOP agreed to work with Obama was if Obama followed 100% of the GOP's FAILED PHILOSOPHY. The American Public was v...

Not that it changes the debate but the US has been in undeclared wars long before The period of time after WWII. how long did we fight the Native Americans and how soon we forget the "shores of Tripoli" I believe that Tripoli declared war on the U.S. The Barbary states declared war at the...

Re: Is it different, hypocritical, or ok for a just cause?
I have no doubt in my mind that the Democrats are usually the stimulus bills to get through 14 years of pent up pet projects through Congress, and I don't like it at all. I sincerely hope that now that the pent up load is spent, real change can happen. Fair enough. I can understand why many Dem's w...

Re: Is it different, hypocritical, or ok for a just cause?
That's been my whole point... All of the issues Obama campaigned on, issues he underlined were Bush's (conservative's) failures...he himself has been guilty of. In all fairness...I don't really believe this is all coming directly from Obama, but rather, much like Bush, Obama has people in his cabin...

wanted to get tickets for the Miami games... Problem you have to buy the whole access page at about 280 dollars, for Balcony seats. One good way to get tickets is to buy them through one of the schools playing at the site that is far away and doesn't travel well. I bought tickets to see UNI in Milw...

Joe, I would vote for you. Has the President committed to trimming the entire budget deficit by half by the end of his first term or has he only committed to reducing the annual deficit (i.e. how much the deficit grows in a given year) by half? wow... in half?!?! you live in that country... not me....

Re: The New American Tea Party
At least the President seems to understand the gravity of the situation, and he has committed to trimming the current budget deficit in half by the end of his first term. Good luck. But we need to start running surpluses, like we did in the last years of the Clinton Administration. Joe, I would vot...

T-man and Baldy , October, 2008: "John McCain could not have picked a better running mate than Sarah Palin." Just wanted to point that little gem out. Again. He'd have lost by more votes than he did if he had not picked Palin. He may be a hero and a former POW, but he's not presidential m...

Thinking a lot of you have to go to the library and pick up some books on the railroads, coal and steel industries and resultant working conditions and societal ills, particulary in the period from 1870 until the mid-1930's and get a grip on what the real abuses of capitalism are in an unregulated ...

:? BTW, how can you have capitalism without the greed you assert to be the real problem? Greed is to capitalism what oxygen is to carbon-based life forms. Unfortunately, greed isn't limited to capitalism. At this point in our evolutionary cycle, it's endemic to the human race. Every system is going...

Just because a person's personal biases have caused them to make up their minds and prevent them from considering alternatives doesn't make those alternatives any less valid. First, economic cycles are natural. The Federal Reserve has worked very hard to try and smooth out those ups and downs but t...

The political spectrum is a circle not a straight line, you go far enough in either direction you end up right next to those of the opposite belief. Hitler and Stalin being the prime examples. A straight line is a gross oversimplification and a circle is not logical in practice. My point being, bas...

I really could care less. However, it would be blasphemous for the big 10 to get more, I don't care what your little RPI says. I say the RPI is bogus. Second, I could argue just as convincingly that tax cuts and trickle down economics are good for the federal budget (and job creation) as you could that tax increases on the middle class/wealthy and percolate up economics are . But I don't think we're going to change the other person's opinion. IMO...
