3/24 Game

Thanks to ridiculous third quarter, Idaho overcame a 9-point halftime deficit to thump Denver 88-66. The Vandals outshot the Pioneers 63%-19% in the third frame and hit 8 treys during that span. Mikayla Ferenz led all scorers with 33 points. Idaho will play at Arizona in the WNIT third round (unoffi...

Re: Big Sky Postseason Thread (2019)

Idaho wins by 22. They'll play the winner of Pacific/Arizona sometime between Wednesday & Friday. I'm guessing Idaho will be on the road either way.

Re: Big Sky Postseason Thread (2019)

I, for one, was very disappointed in the showing of both the Portland State women's team and the Montana men's team in the tournament. Going in to the conference tournament, the top four of the women's side were pretty equal, while the Griz men's team looked to be more superior than anyone else in ...

3/22 Scores

The Portland State WBB season came to a whimpering end as they lost to Oregon in the NCAAs 78-40. The Viks were outshot 60%-30% in the first half. They held the Ducks to 33% in the second half, but their own percentage dropped to 19% in the same frame. Ashley Bolston had a solid final game, scoring ...

Re: Big Sky Postseason Thread (2019)

Portland State loses to Oregon by 38. That margin ties the most lopsided postseason loss in women's Big Sky history (ISU vs. Stanford, 2007).

3/21 Games

The Montana men lost to Michigan in the NCAA's for the second-straight year, 74-55. The Griz did score 8 more points than they did in 2018's meeting, but they lost by a slightly bigger margin nonetheless. Sayeed Pridgett led Montana with 17 points, while Ahmaad Rorie had 10 points and 5 assists in h...

Re: Big Sky Postseason Thread (2019)

The Griz trail by 13 at the break, which is pretty good considering they obviously think making baskets is beneath them. Three WNIT games going on tonight, too. NoCo lost to Wyoming by 8, ISU trails Arizona by 9 (late-3Q), and Idaho is blowing out LMU (late-2Q). Just like last year. Our D played we...

Griz lose by 19, though the only reason it was that close was because Montana's scrubs outplayed Michigan's.

Re: RE: Re: Big Sky Postseason Thread (2019)

It seems various media outfits pick the Griz as a possible Cinderella every single time they're in the tourney. :? Yes, they do. At least last year's game was mildly competitive.  I don't like UM's chances without Akoh down there to take up space—Michigan has a huge size advantage with...

Re: 2018-19 Big Sky Basketball

Aside from Montana, Suutah is the only other Big Sky men's team that will play in the postseason. They host Drake in the CIT Friday. Weber & NoCo both chose not to participate (NoCo won the CIT last year). PSU's women got a #15-seed and will play at Oregon Friday. Idaho, Idaho State, and NoCo wi...

Portland State gets the #15 seed and will play Oregon in Eugene on Friday. Bobcats Fire Brian Fish

The first Big Sky coaching casualty. This wasn't real surprising, though the 'Cats did just well enough to think Fish had a chance to keep his job.
