Re: 2014 NFC West Thread

Yes, back to 2011 is a long while in NFL talk. And I think the 9ers shit the bed this season. :twocents: And the Chargers are going to run through the NFC West like Mexican tap water through a gringo tourist. :coffee:  Rivers and crew are going to be destroyed by both SEA and STL's D. http://...

Re: 2014 Winter Olympics - Sochi, Russia

They're showing every game live. Get cable you cheapskate. MSNBC, USA, NBCSN all carry the men's hockey games. You missed my point once AGAIN, RK. You seem to have an evil predilection for that. Yes, the games will be live...DURING THE FREAKING MIDWATCH! How many are going to watch under those cond...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

Indy can't run, they can't pass block, their defensive personnel is average with few exceptions. They made the playoffs because their division was easily the worst in the league. Quit overselling their "accomplishments" because they beat Seattle. (We both know that's at least part of the ...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

That's also completely impossible to prove. We know that Philly beat AZ and would have been favored at home against AZ in the playoffs. You'd have to ask someone from Vegas on that, but I think that's probably a fair estimate. And Vegas favored Denver in the Super Bowl. :coffee: :coffee: So? I hear...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

They got out-classed for 6 of 8 playoff quarters. They won the AFC South. I doubt they would have won 5 games in the NFC. I don't think they were that much better than any team that missed the playoffs in the AFC like Pitt or Miami. Just because they beat Denver and Seattle means they were above av...

Re: Eddie Lacy (Packers) named AP Rookie of the Year!

GB was the #7 rushing offense last year. That's a myth. San Diego was #13 in rushing. Keenan Allen had to step up because SD lost their 2 starting WRs and saw Gates continue slowing down. He carried arguably more responsibility and was more valuable in my eyes as a result. Lacy's team was #7 in rus...

Re: 2014 Winter Olympics - Sochi, Russia

I know that SOMEBODY's going to get screwed on this regardless of where the Olympics is held, but I REALLY wish my top things to watch live are on during the blinking midwatch. I REALLY wanna see hockey, but is there any guarantee that NBC will play ALL Team USA games on tape delay? I'm not so sure...

Re: Eddie Lacy (Packers) named AP Rookie of the Year!

What a shame. :ohno: Allen had a great rookie season, but I would put Lacy's year above Allen. Lacy was #8 in rushing yards and had 35 receptions. Allen was #22 in receiving yards and #35 in receptions with 71, #3 on his team. Allen was a good receiver on a passing team while Lacy was a good RB on ...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

Your opinion, of course. Note - Arizona ended up with a far better record than Philly, likely would have won 12-13 games with Philly's schedule. Philly would have won 6-7 at best. That's also completely impossible to prove. We know that Philly beat AZ and would have been favored at home against AZ ...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

ok let's get this out of the way, yes the cards beat seattle in seattle. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. Seattle destroyed the Cards at the Cards. Funny how we forget that. Secondly, rk, Indy was not garbage. Any team that makes the playoffs, let alone wins a game, is not garbage. They got ou...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

Umm - the Cardinals didn't play the Chargers. Saints was week three - new offense, new defense, new QB, missing D Wash due to 4 game suspension. Teams were completely different by the end of the year. Cardinals finished 7-2, with the losses both by three points to Phi (on the road, playing 11 on 16...

Re: The Super Bowl (what we learned)

I don't buy Arizona at all. I can't do it...not with Carson Palmer at QB. They beat Seattle in Seattle but that was a fluke. 4 turnovers and they still win? Not exactly a ringing endorsement to me. Beat Indy 40-11. Almost beat the 49'ers (last second loss). Beat Carolina Top 3 Defense in the League...

Playing games? Did you really just accuse Seahawks fans of playing games, when you're the one whose been dangling "my team which I won't name is better than your team" this whole time? I'm not playing games. I told you I wasn't going to tell anyone and you dumbasses won't let it go. :toth...

Re: Championship Game Predictions

Just wondering...your team wouldn't happen to be playing in the Super Bowl this year would it? :suspicious: Nice try. Stay on topic. I'm not a Broncos fan. Rest assured that the Seahawks have a less meaningful history as a NFL team than mine does (and that will always be my comeback until Seattle m...

I think the Redskins have Seattle beat.
Yeah, but they didn't get off the hook on a technicality or sue the league because of a failed test either.

Re: Championship Game Predictions

San Diego was the 23rd rated defense and held Denver 10 points under their average in all 3 games. Seattle is the #1 defense, and defense wins championships. Not anymore. You need both to win in most major sports today. Baseball, a relic of the past (while still relevant and enjoyable, resistant to...

Re: Elite QB for This Year

so let's say manning throws for 340 and 4 td but the Broncos lose 38-35...that's his fault? Holy shit.... Of course. Just like Marino and Sanders suck because they never had good enough teams around them to win a SB. Peyton Manning gets $20M per year to play QB. He gets all the credit and all the b...

Re: 2014 Winter Classic

I'd like to see a team like Buffalo, Detroit, or Boston build an outdoor stadium. I don't think a team like Anaheim or Phoenix could get away with that with the danger of the ice melting, but it would be nice to see teams play outside on a regular basis. That might be nice for hoops, too. Um, no. T...

Re: 2014 NHL Playoff Race

The whole East vs. West argument is pointless and unnecessary. I know the west plays a more exciting brand of hockey, but I don't think the East will be any cakewalk. Tampa will get Stamkos and Bishop fully healthy, the Pens and Bruins are tough, and there are enough teams getting their act togethe...
